  • Wayne's avatar

@Ronnie yea im sure he won't stay around but it's pretty crazy seeing them out in our neck of the woods.

  • Ronnie's avatar

@Wayne man I sure hope not lol I don't wanna run into that cat out in the woods especially if I'm getting a deer an have blood on me

  • Wayne's avatar

@Ronnie yea man I hear ya on that. I always carry a pistol in the woods. I don't figure I will get attacked by a mountain lion but you never know when your gonna need some personal protection. Lol

  • Todd's avatar

To me it looks like a dog walking away, looks like his tail is docked?

  • Ronnie's avatar

@Todd no it's a Bob cat I was wrong about the whole lion Thang I've seen Bob cats down there before it's a Bob cat

  • Scott's avatar

  • Brian's avatar

I’ve heard of having mountain lions pass thru Ohio I’m sure the are around. Just like we have bear in Ohio

  • Ronnie's avatar

@Brian that's awsome yes I no ww do have lions an bears here in Ohio just not a lot an thank God to that I would not want to cross paths with one of those animals a bear not so much affird of them bit a lion na I'm good lol

I came back to this a few times. Your picture of the deer really helped to gauge scale in the photo. Like everyone at first glance, “Holy smokes, it’s a mountain lion!” Then considering scale, the ears, and what I can make out as tail, it’s a really big bobcat. The IR just washed out the markings.

  • Ronnie's avatar

@Sean yes at first I thought the same Thang shit I got a lion runing around down there then like you the more I looked at it I realized it's a big Bob cat

  • Sean's avatar

It wouldn’t take much to convince me that a mountain lions are in Ohio. I live in Tuscarawas County several hours from any established elk herds, and I swear I heard an elk bugle a couple years ago. So I don’t discount any oddities. 😉🤣

  • Ronnie's avatar

@Sean yea that was down in Coshocton County an the farmer has said he has seen a few lions roaming around every now an then same as bear I no ww have bear in ohio there's elk in PA I garentee there is a few around in southern ohio some place

  • Sean's avatar

@Ronnie Bear for sure! I haven’t crossed paths with any yet, but I’ve seen bear crop damage on a buddy’s farm in Harrison County!

  • Ronnie's avatar

@Sean I use to lease land down in Muskingum County wich is 30mins away from my Coshocton farm an I seen bears down there before an to be honest scared the living shit out of me lol

  • Ronnie's avatar

@Sean but wit that said I only seen 2 from the time I could rember till about 5 years ago my dad got it an leased it for a long time then once I got older an got a family of my own I took over the lease payments till the farmer passed away an his daughter leased it out to an outfitter it was 500 acres only charged us 300 from April to April so we would go down an turkey hunt camp fish ride our quads an then deer hunt in the fall was a good time right on the Muskingum River caught a shit ton of cat fish out of that river I really miss that place

  • Sean's avatar

@Ronnie Yeah I have mixed feelings on outfitters… but oh well. Land is not easy to come by these days, I’m very blessed to have really good friends!

  • Ronnie's avatar

    @Sean o yea
