    Is it a sharp of some sort?

    It's a rolling block, named after how the breech opens and closes.

    Where as a sharps rifle is a falling block, pulling down on the trigger guard causes the breech block to "fall" in order to load, eject, and our unload the weapon.

    @Brandon that would be it thank you boss just found it on google . From what I found online the replica I have is a British colonial Remington rolling block m1867 replica . Thanks again boss been trying to figure this out for awhile
