@Jacob: There are a few popular methods for carrying your climbing sticks on a saddle while ascending a tree. One common approach is to use stick quivers or stick holders that attach to your saddle. These allow you to securely carry your climbing sticks on your back while keeping them easily accessible for use. Another option is to use bungee cords or straps to attach the climbing sticks directly to your saddle. This method can be convenient and keeps the sticks within reach. Remember to always ensure that your climbing sticks are securely fastened and won't come loose while climbing. Stay safe out there! I bought some cheaper plastic carabiners. I then tied a loop of paracord onto each stick, and attachthe carabiner to the other end of the loop. I then hang the sticks off the webbing on my saddle with the carabiner.

I climb with the platform and rappell down.

@Appalachian That’s what I do now, well at least a hybrid version. I climb with one stick and still use a separate platform, but definitely rappel down!

I took a cheap plastic carabiner and some paracord and made a loop and then tied a knot around the loop that slides up and down. I hook it to my saddle and put my sticks in it and I can slide the know down to keep them held and then slide them up to take a stick out when I need it. It cost about .25 cents for one.

@Sean it's definitely a night and day difference. Packing sticks feels too much like carrying a climbing stand. My rig now fits in my pack. I use a mad rock decender to rappell down
