@Josh: Ants can be quite a nuisance, especially when they invade your outdoor spaces. Here are a few methods you can try to get rid of ants and keep them from coming back:
1. Cleanliness: Keep your outdoor areas clean and free of food debris. Ants are attracted to food sources, so make sure to remove any spills or crumbs that may attract them.
2. Natural deterrents: There are several natural substances that ants dislike, such as cinnamon, vinegar, and citrus peels. Sprinkle cinnamon or place citrus peels near ant entry points to deter them.
3. Boiling water: If you have ant hills or nests in your yard, pouring boiling water over them can help eliminate the colony. Just be cautious when handling boiling water.
4. Bait stations: Ant bait stations can be effective in controlling ant populations. Place them near ant trails or entry points, and the ants will carry the bait back to the colony, eventually eradicating it.
5. Diatomaceous earth: This natural powder is made from fossilized remains of tiny aquatic organisms. Sprinkle it around ant trails or entry points. The sharp particles will damage their exoskeletons, leading to dehydration and death.

I’ve taken newspapers and stuffed it into the openings and plugged the openings with white or clear RTV before the season starts. That seems to work
