Guessing the Age of a Deer: What's Your Estimate?

I’d say at least 3.5, he’s got decent mass. Too much to be 2.5.

I don’t know enough yet to be good at this game lol. I’ll be learning from what folks who do know say though.

I’m thinking 3.5 as well. His belly and his back both sag slightly and his hocks are a little stained so he’s gone thru atleast 1 solid rut cycle.

@Jeffrey Anytime, I’m NO expert by any stretch of the word, but those are usually the thing I key in on when “trying” to guess age. Although I shot what I thought was a 3.5yo last year that turned out to be a 5.5yo aged by the NH wildlife biology office so who knows haha

Same here but the ten point in my profile pic was 3.5 and this buck looks at least that age.

I would say 3.5 year old. Doesn’t have that 4.5 plus year old girth imo.
