@Dave Gray I used a 30-30 for 27 years, then picked up my Savage for my first western hunt last year. I took an antelope in Wyoming and three whitetails back here in Michigan. I can't imagine ever going to something else.

We saw seven deer in an hour and a half of hunting opening morning. Six of them were bucks. Most of them were beyond her comfort range, but this guy stepped out of the woods at 80 yards and Mrs Grizld was able to pull the trigger on her very first deer! A perfect double lung shot with the .308. The deer didn't make it 50 yards.
