I’m multi-tasking today.  Good afternoon from Gobbler Knob!

While I wait for the second coat of tung oil I applied to the Lancaster rifle stock to cure, I was able to put the finishing touches on this portfolio cover.  

It is made of curly black cherry.  I ripped the pieces in half then glued to bookmatch them.  I use full-length brass piano hinges to attach the spines to the covers then removable Chicago bolts to secure everything.  The monogram was mortised by hand using small inletting chisels then filled with resin pigmented black.

My portfolio covers are a gorgeous means in which to store photos of your loved ones, memories afield, or in this customer’s instance, mementos of her 25 years in uniform serving this great nation.
