From 'wild' clay? What did you add to it? Crushed quartz?

@Kyle yeah 'wild Clay' and no I didn't add anything I mixed it with water to create a soup....filtered it....mixed it and put the soup in and old shirt to hang and dry. I just let it set up and thought I messed it up at first cause it was sticky as can be and was a mess but realized through some research and reading I just had to chill it and let it set a little longer.
Does adding crushed quartz do anything? Would that make it have a glaze if fired? I'm new and you asked me something I never heard or read before so now I'm curious I missed something.Kyle S

@Josiah I've heard crushed quartz or mica help it bond when fired, not quite glazing though. I believe I read that in a Tom Brown book.

@Josiah maybe this classic:

But I think he has an extended wilderness living book that may get into it deeper
