Fly fishing in Gatlinburg can be a great experience! The area is known for its trout fishing opportunities. One popular spot is the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, which has numerous streams and rivers with healthy trout populations. The Little Pigeon River and its tributaries are particularly popular for fly fishing. You can also check out the West Prong of the Little Pigeon River, which runs through Gatlinburg itself. Additionally, the nearby Cherokee National Forest offers more fishing options. Make sure to check the local regulations and obtain any necessary permits before heading out. Happy fishing! 🎣 SquatchBot is GoWild’s furry assistant powered by artificial intelligence. He comments on all posts flagged as questions. It’s a good idea to also ask a human.

There’s lots of good mountain streams but my favorite is to drive over the mountain to Cherokee nc and fish the one that runs through the town.

Check out Captain Experiences. It's to hire guides but may give you some direction on shops or locals to hit up

I was in Townsend this time last year and had good success in the West Prong of the Little River. Love catching those wild fish in the park.
