    Love it!

  • Mike's avatar

    @Chuck it was a partly cloudy day, but when the sun was just right, this lake was a color we’d never seen….. unbelievable.. pics can’t touch it…

  • Chuck's avatar

    @Mike so jealous but man so proud for y’all!

  • Mike's avatar

    @Chuck thanks bro. After a year of planning, this trip was primed for letdowns. We either didn’t have any, or the highs were so high that the lows weren’t realized. So much more to come…

  • Chuck's avatar

    @Mike and to think that some people think this was all created by a random explosion🤦🏼‍♂️

  • John's avatar

    The blue color of the lake is amazing!!!

  • Mike's avatar

    @Chuck they’ve never been to a place like this or had their life flash before their eyes… Wyatt’s windbreaker/rain jacket matching the color of the lake that day was no coincidence my man👊

  • Mike's avatar

    @John beyond…. And it changed with the sunlight. I wish we could’ve just recorded the whole day up there.

  • John's avatar

    @Mike it’s really amazing the beauty that’s around the country. Most folks have no idea what they’re missing

  • RollTruck's avatar

    It’s beautiful out there

  • Robert's avatar

    Living the high life adventure you two will never forget!

  • Mike's avatar

    @John exactly. Just gotta get out there and experience it!

  • Mike's avatar

    @RollTruck absolutely indescribable 👍

  • Mike's avatar

    @Robert brother, you ain’t kidding!

  • Nate's avatar

    That is some crystal clear water!

  • Mike's avatar

    @Nate yessir, as clear as can possibly be. I told Wyatt I’d love to scuba dive it, but I couldn’t afford the helicopter to airlift in the gear because there is no way I’d carry it in😳

  • Lisa's avatar

    Beautiful times! And photos!

    I so miss it myself!

  • Mike's avatar

    @Lisa MAKE time to get out there Lisa. I have a built in excuse to go back next year that I’ll share later, but it doesn’t take a reason!

  • Lisa's avatar

    Thanks, Mike! I lived that life for 8 years, going in the backwoods to fishing in gorgeous remote lakes, eating the fish we caught (in MT though). I have thousands of photos I still enjoy. My 8 years will tie me over until my life is more settled.😉
    Plus, I can enjoy your Colorado adventures as well. 😁 🤜🏼🤛🏼 It is so good to see you and your son out creating awesome memories together 😇

  • Ferg's avatar

    That's a stunning piece of nature right there man. You don't see water that blue very often

  • Mike's avatar

    @Lisa the best!!

  • Mike's avatar

    @Ferg apparently there is a thing called stone flour that causes the color. Fantastic….

  • David's avatar

    Some of those trips are once in a lifetime, the best part of it, was your son was with you. That's a great start to the trip.

  • Ferg's avatar

    @Mike natural chemical reaction eh.
    Ad have had to have a swin in there

  • Mike's avatar

    @David yessir, 20 years to draw the tag makes that part once in a lifetime, but the whole family plans to go back for fishing. Another world.

  • Mike's avatar

    @Ferg water temps were about 40° Fahrenheit. Have at it boss🤣

  • Derek's avatar

    The water looks incredible! Sounds like an amazing fishing trip and a great way to start off the whole hunting trip. Makes me miss the west that much more.

  • Mike's avatar

    @Derek we’re gonna talk……

  • Derek's avatar

    @Mike any time!

  • Mike's avatar

    @Derek I’m serious bro, get your NoDak and Tenn behind you and hit me up.

  • Derek's avatar

    @Mike I'm always looking for the next trip!

  • Mike's avatar

    @Derek 😎👊

  • Ferg's avatar

    @Mike 🤣, the Highlands aint much better fella😜🤣

  • Adam D's avatar

    Man, that looks awesome

  • Mike's avatar

    @Adam I doubt you and the missus would ever leave man. Heaven on earth. If it weren’t for kids and all, I could stay until it freezes over.

  • Appalachian's avatar

    Definitely enjoyed the trout fishing out that way when I went. You know I wouldn't mind going for just trout and grouse one of these days.

  • Mike's avatar

    @Appalachian Wyatt and I said the same exact thing man. Who needs to wait 20 years for a Deer tag when you can go out and small game and fish in that country every year?

  • Mike's avatar

    @Appalachian those are some fatties!, bigger than the ones we caught.

  • Appalachian's avatar

    @Mike We caught so many. No joke it was almost every cast. In a little 10' wide stream. It'd be neat to pack in a shotgun and a fly rod for a good old cast and blast.

  • Mike's avatar

    @Appalachian yep, we had the same ratio. The fewest grouse I’ve ever seen, but trout up the wazoo

  • Appalachian's avatar

    @Mike Maybe the birds are more plentiful at lower elevations? I know I saw a ton around the 8/9 grand mark, especially in a 5/10 year old beetle kill with new scrub growing. Didn't see any past the 10 grand mark though.

  • Mike's avatar

    @Appalachian exactly, most of our time was 10,550-13350. No trees for the buggers there. Transitioning up and down was the only times we saw any sign. I have no problem staying lower next time🤣

  • Appalachian's avatar

    @Mike yeah hoofing like that'll leave your legs hurting, that's for sure
