@Brian Grandchamp Unfortunately I have just a shoulder mount, it was pretty early in the fall, so it didn't have a great coat.

@Jody Mccullough Lots of bears around central and northern BC. I can't complain. Some big, some not so large.

@Michael Barry That was from a 300 win mag, same rifle I've killed numerous bears with, but with better ammo. Love my barnes after that experience. The bullet I shot didn't even retain 50% of it's weight.

most people call a 100#  bear a 300# bear.  😁

from the picture it looks like you down played the weight of yours.   😁  👍

@Ethan Turner Never weighed it, but I have shot 2 spring boars around 400lbs, this was probably around 250-300lbs.

This was my first bear ever, and a decent one at that! Solo hunt, I was out looking for moose, but saw this nice bear run up into a replanted logging block. I ran up an old skidder trail and spotted it about 60-75 yards away. I used to shhot cheap ammo.  The first bullet blew up in it's shoulder. The bear turned and charged, closing the distance between us fast! I shot it in the head and it dropped. I only shoot quality ammo now, and I'm hooked on bear hunting, despite almost becoming a bear's dinner!
