Congratulations on getting that first archery buck!🦌👍👊

Went out Wednesday morning in not the best conditions in hopes to get my first bow kill and first filmed hunt by my cousin. Had already a couple cold, rainy, windy hunts coming up to this day but something just felt right about that morning.  Wind was perfect for the tree we were in but I don’t if scent would’ve mattered to much that morning. Just as I got situated in my climber about an hour before first light there was already movement on the flat near the community scrape that we had been watching since the early fall where the buck we called “fiddler” had been using often at night. Before sunrise I had counted 8 deer and heard a buck grunting and chasing a doe close by. Once the sun came out we 7 different deer grazing around us and any movement was catching there attention making the hunt even harder to record. Around 7:15 I watched the doe in heat rip across the flat with fiddler hot on her trail. On an impulse I quickly pushed my head into my bag hitting my grunt call to try to stop the buck without being blown up by the other deer. For a moment he started to walk our way only to run away down the hill after about 10 yards. As defeat sat in thinking I wouldn’t see that deer again at 8:15 the doe in heat snuck into the mix of the other deer and was right in front of us about 30 yards strolling away.  Before I could think here came fiddler moving quickly toward the doe. I quickly went to full draw saying in my head “this is it, now or never”. Only problem was since the wind was blowing straight at us I had my hat brim lowered directly into my anchor point. Knowing the buck would soon be out of my single pin sliders range I had to quickly push my hat straight up at full draw. Luckily for me he briefly stopped and gave me the opportunity to take a shot at 27 yards. I aimed low and it was a perfect shot. Right into the heart and the grim reaper white tail special did the rest. He went 40 yards and fell down the side of the mountain. First bow kill ✔️ first buck with bow ✔️ first filmed hunt ✔️. I used these grim reaper white tail special broad heads and was not disappointed. I shot a nice 9 point buck quartering slightly away. Thought it was a low shot but it ended up perfectly hitting the heart. As the deer ran away the broad head opened and closed multiple times continuously cutting the heart. Deer didn’t go 40 yards and the carnage it left inside spoke for itself. Great product.
