@RKE absolutely! I read these books when I was a 12 & 13. They fueled my passion for early American history and played a significant role in me wanting to make flintlock rifles.

@Gobbler thanks for the info! My 15 loves to read and has devoured all the Louis L’Amour books. I’ve been looking for some new options for him.

@RKE oh, man! I’m also a huge Louis L’Amour fan, too. Your son will devour these! Even though each novel is independent, they are a series, so get them for him in order. What I enjoy is how well-researched they are. The author provides thorough documentation in footnotes for his research.
