I’ve read Americans Serengeti and he is a great author. A few of his books are on my list, this was not one of them though, not sure why.

@Nick I've also read that one and "Coyote America". This is his newest book and it just came out a couple months ago, so that may be why it wasn't on your list.

@Derek ha that’d be the reason.

If you’re looking for a recommendation for another really good book that does a great job presenting history from a unique perspective, I would highly suggest A Sand County Almanac by Aldo Leopold. An oldie, but goodie. And, if you are not familiar with the author Edward Abbey, by all means check out both his non-fiction and fiction works. I’ve read just about everything he has written and they do not disappoint. I fondly remember reading his book The Monkey Wrench Gang, cover to cover straight through, laying in a tent in the Cirque of the Towers in the Wind River Mountains in Wyoming while waiting out a hellacious storm. Used a flashlight to continue reading at night it was so good!
