I was thinking the other day of buying this exact one. Why did you go with savage? Why 350 over 450?

@Nick savage had a good deal at the place I was at and honestly I did a very small amount of research this time (which I normally do a lot more) and for the areas I hunt the ballistic differences wasn’t a huge deal for me personally. If your in the market just do some research on what makes the best sense for where and how you hunt. My dad got a mossberg 450 bushmaster a couple years ago and loves it.

@John I did a little of research (two articles this far) and yea the 450 is flatter longer but when it starts to drop off it stops if quicker. I don’t think I’d be shooting at an animal over 150 yards anyway. Just curious on your choices. Have fun!!

@Nick likewise brother! hope you find something that works for ya and helps you shoot a big one!!!

@Nick I had a .450 and got rid of it just because the setup was second hand to me. The round is fine, but honestly the 350 is just as good when you consider the mega drop the 450

I bought the exact same gun 3 years ago, sold all my other “deer” rifles. The 350 legend is an amazing round. Have taken deer out to 350-400yds and they usually drop within 20-50yards, depending on how good of a shot I make lol. I went with it over the 450 just because it’s pretty much the same as a 30-30 as it’s a good brush gun and also will reach out the distances I shoot. You won’t be disappointed.

@Nick I chose the 350 for the versatility it offers. It’s the modern 30-30 good brush gun and can also reach out on some distance. Great knock down power! If you’re thinking of going to a straight wall I’d highly recommend the 350. I also went with savage axis ii.

Get that thing sighted in and ready for Monday! Good luck, I’ll be down in Jackson County watching the sun come up.

I’ve got two 350s but they haven’t made a debut in the woods yet. I’m still stuck on my 450.

@TW thanks buddy. My dads big on the 450. I’m getting my 350 all set up and ready. Good luck down there in Jackson county. I’ll be hoping my son and I will make it happen here in Portage county!

I love getting into the woods for really any reason! I’m teaching my kids to appreciate the outdoors hunting, fishing, hiking, scouting, camping and any other activity outside.
