    It's a toss up between duck and deer season, I love them both.

    Haven’t went hunting in almost 30 years. I guess if I had a season it would be deer season in the Sandhills of Nebraska. Whitetail, Mulie. We had both on our ranch. Always wanted to do the Colorado or Wyoming horse back elk hunt as a kid.

    @Justin we gotta get you back outside dude! @Matthew knows of some land near you if you’re looking to find some spots

  • Brad's avatar

    @Brian understood! I’m pumped about whitetail and may do some squirrel

    @Brad I know of land even though the family place is gone), lots of friends still ranch out there. It’s getting a new gun, getting the wife convinced that venison isn’t that bad. My 17 year old son wants to go. I put it on him to take hunter safety first and we’d go from there. Still waiting for him to stop playing video games though. Ugh. City life. I’m ready for wide open spaces and clean air.

    @Justin get the kid a few hunting trips where he just sees stuff and he’ll be hooked. Also, I can give you 4-5 recipes that are so good your wife will convert. My wife is a city girl too. I converted her. We can get through this together.

    @Brad thanks for the tag. FYI I ended up moving from Nebraska! But I’d be happy to help even though my Sandhills information is semi bleak but there is a National Wildlife Refuge in the area @Justin. I’m not sure on the public land availability. NE game and parks has an online hunting atlas that may provide good public land areas and private land deer hunting may be challenging unless you’re willing to pay or get very lucky! If I can be of any additional help, let me know!

    @Matthew between the National forest near Halsey and family friends with large ranches I would have no problem finding land along Highway 2 from Dunning to Alliance.

  • Brad's avatar

    @Matthew where ya located now?

  • Justin's avatar

    @Brad That’s always been my plan. The past 10 years have been my own personal hell health wise unfortunately but now in a much better place mentally. Getting back physically now. Recipes are always welcome.

    @Brad I moved in with a friend who lives in Fort Collins, CO. Had a few cracks at some jobs in this area so I thought, why not give er a go. If nothing pans out I’ll likely move back to MN late August after I get some archery elk hunting in 😂

  • AJ's avatar

    I’m waiting for that magical time in the middle of the winter when everything is open!

  • Brad's avatar

    @Matthew haha good luck boss

  • Brad's avatar

    @AJ yessss that’s a good point

  • Brad's avatar

    @Stephen heard that 👊

  • Brad's avatar

    @Justin my favorite come from @From, and Hank Shaw

  • Matthew's avatar

    @Justin here is a recipe for ya. 1-2 pheasant breast sliced and cooked in a pan with bbq sauce, honey, and hot sauce, then add in some finely chopped garlic, maybe 2 cloves. Then 1/2 green pepper, 1/2 jalapeño, 1/4 red onion, and 2 mushrooms all sliced...add to pheasant breast. Get a 9x13 pan, some pizza dough, spread the dough on the greased pan, then pour bbq sauce over the dough, added the ingredients from the pan, cover with cheese and bake for whatever the dough container says and you get something like this!

    @Brad thanks dude. I’m just running (slowly walking) up mountains to prepare myself for hopefully a long elk and antelope season
