    A typical fat hog will dress on average, 72%. Dressing percentage is calculated by hot carcass weight/ live weight x 100. Field dressed weight will probably be a little higher because the hide and head is still on the carcass. all this being said, there’s probably a bigger difference between live weight and field dressed weight than 20 pounds.
