@Ronnie I plan on making the breast into pastrami and then ill probably use the legs to make tacos with the slow cooker. Every goose I've ever had has been great. It's all about how it's handled and cooked.

@Derek nice 👌 once they are working your spread or coming towards you within say 100 yards, hit em with the moans. Best call to do to finish them. Low growly soft moans🤙

@Brandon ill try that tomorrow if they show back up! Thanks!

@Derek yes sir good luck. I usually quit calling if they are inside of 200 and coming. I keep my call in my hand though. If they try to swing out wide then hit em with a hard fast moan and they'll turn towards the moan alot of times finishing closer. 👍

Solid work dude. Is it right you need a heavier shot to take them down

  • Derek's avatar

@Ferg thanks! Yeah, you definitely want to use a larger shot size. I use BB when hunting them.

@Derek yea I remember a guy I used to do 3D archery with, he was big into hunting. He was explained their practically bulletproof compared to other birds lol. Normal shot will just annoy or wound them

I use #5 shot for ducks and geese. Kills em just fine if they are under 40 yards decoying. Been shooting #5 blindsides for years. 3 man limit Saturday.
