    What David said. Wood Chuck, ground hog, whistle pig, whatever you call them, they are the largest member of the ground squirrel family and absolutely fine table fare!

    Got rid of one a week or so ago, ate a lot of plants before I connected. Did eata young one some years ago, tasted somewhat like squirrels.

    Well if I ever get the big one to step out long enough to shot him I will be putting him in the pot. Never even thought to eat it but I'm willing to give it a try.

    conibear traps or snares on the burrows make short work of them

    @Appalachian might have to try that. Just drove past the section I see them in and there were 3 of them out there. I killed this one there 2 days ago so I'm sure we are loaded up with them.
