This was the first buck I'd ever taken by bow.  He came in after a hit doe, grunting up a storm. I was new to bow hunting and the stillness and calm of the woods was strange compared to the chaotic hellstorm of gun season. I gave this buck the old MEH, and he hit the brakes right in front of me 20 yds broadside. I took the shot and between the thump of my old Matthew's ultra 2 solo cam, and the thwack of the arrow finding its mark, the woods erupted with movement. All I could see from every angle of my periphery was deer running every direction. I had no clue just how many deer were within bow range without being visible. My buck disappeared through the thicket, and it was a short track job. I got my first buck under my belt and learned so much about my new favorite activity.
