I had one where it looked like it had an infection into the skull. Looked like part of the skull came with the antler!

@James dang!! I've seen a few similar to that, but not with that much bone with it! that had to hurt...

@Mike I wish I could tell ya the deer made it to the next year. I never saw a buck similar rack rise to that deer the following year.

@James I saw one of the ones I found the next summer with only the opposite side antler in velvet. But then, 2 yrs later, he had both sides again. Strange….

@Garret yeah, that's crazy! I never realized it was a thing until last year. It's crazy seeing the holes that are in that one as well

@Matt I’m not really sure what causes it. Everyone one I’ve found they stink so bad I usually don’t keep them

@Garret from what I've been informed on, it's possibly from an infected follicle that causes is, which could explain the smell if that happens to be the case
