Sorry to hear about your grandpa. Sounds like an awesome dude. Cancer got my Popa and it still hurts. Good luck with finishing finals and congrats on the meat in the freezer. Hang in there!

So glad to you got to do that and share this with your grandpa. I’m sure that meant a lot to him to get to hold a deer with you too. I hope you get to spend some more time with him soon and hope your finals go well!

Strength to you and your family man. I lost my grandpa 18 yrs ago and think about him and the lessons learned every day. Thankfully you have a great one also

@Brayden thank you, and yah I hated to shoot the guy he probably coulda turned into something nice in 3 years but he was pretty badly injured. And thank you again sir I really do appreciate it.

@Brent thank you, he’s a pretty anti-emotional person but like you said I know that meant a lot to him. I should have some of the bow season left when I get back so I should get some more hunting time with him for sure.Thank you again sir.

@Mike yes sir this isn’t gonna be easy but you just gotta accept it and cherish everything he showed you and taught you especially all the hunting stories he has. And it sounds like what you said, we had some great grandpas for sure.

Heart felt post, Cory. Super happy about your successful hunt and using Lil George. Prayers that your Grandpa knows the Lord and he goes peacefully. Prayers for strength for you and your family as you walk into and through this terribly challenging time.
Pst. Congrats on that awesome precision rifle scholarship!

@Lisa thank you so much and yes he definitely knows the lord that’s another thing that helps a lot. And thank you so much I definitely have a lot to thank him for and even more for my dad with helping me get a D1 scholarship I know that made him proud.

I had the chance to kill my first buck with my late grandfather’s .243 a few months after he passed.

  • Shane's avatar

@Shane I wish I could edit my posts! Anyways, I’ve killed a lot of deer since then but that little 10pt with the .243 will always be the most precious. Praying that your grandfather either heals or that God would ease his pain and give you some cherished memories with the time y’all have left.

My heart goes out to you and your grandpa, Cancer is just terrible…Savor those memories with him. I would give up anything to have that time back with both my grandparents…Congrats on that harvest! And good luck on those finals…

  • Cory's avatar

@Shane thank you so much he’s in great spirits and mind so that’s the best case Scenario we could ask for, and I will always treasure his old hunting gear he gave to me.

  • Cory's avatar

@Paul thank you sir I will, and we are having a pretty good season, we host NCAA this year!

  • Cory's avatar

@David thank you so much I’m definitely appreciative of the time I hade with him and what he had taught me. I always loved all his hunting gear and always wanted it but I’d never want anything again if it kept him here. And finals went great !
