Nice part about living 5 minutes from work is to get out and catch the last 15 minutes or so of hunting. Started getting trail pics of this buck again. So decided to grab the muzzleloader and see if I could get my first buck with muzzleloader. I walked up the road way to the field and saw him with another buck. With Neither of them paying attention, and the Wind being perfect, I set up my shooting sticks and ranged him. He was 205 so aimed a little high. I squeezed the trigger and let the muzzleloader eat. It hit him perfectly. He stood there for few seconds then went up on his back legs and flipped over. It has been a awesome hunting season for sure. I can close the book on 2022. But even though it’s over I’ll be planning and definitely will start thinking about 2023.
