@Garrett: The 6.5 Creedmoor is a popular choice for coyote hunting due to its flat trajectory and long-range accuracy. While it may be considered a bit on the higher end in terms of power for coyotes, it can still be an effective caliber for taking them down. Just make sure to choose the appropriate bullet type and weight for coyote hunting to minimize pelt damage. Shot placement is crucial, as well, to ensure a clean and ethical kill. Happy hunting! My next question is Michigan specific, hunting for coyotes with a 6.5 I am not able to do this under the regular rifle line am I? If I am not would a 350 legend work for coyotes?

6.5 creedmoor is a lot for a coyote but I guess it depends on if you want it to be fur friendly or not! 😂 You can use a rifle statewide for predator hunting. I’m using a 204 Ruger and I hunt downstate. Good luck 👊 @Garrett

@Mason thanks for the information about the rifle hunting. It is kind of funny you can do that for predators but not deer. And for coyotes I'm not trying to be friendly killing too many deer around me.

Yeah, you can use a rifle for predators in southern MI at night but you can’t use one for deer during the day…make it make sense! 🙄😂

Technically yes it’s too much. Realistically dead is dead. My cousin got his first coyote with a 308. Try it out for awhile an d devise if it’s for you than later you can get a coyote caliber rifle. Coyote hunting can be expensive in some cases.
