ahhhh, the two things I hate most during turkey season, deer and hens, they almost never offer a positive impact on the hunt

@Appalachian it was definitely a challenge. I killed a slammer a few years ago that I named lucky. He was a 4-year old. He earned his name because one of my friends missed him on the opening day. A week later, he was coming to the gun again and a coyote spooked him into flight. I worked him off and on without any success until the last week of the season. I was able to coax him into range and ended his reign on that ridge. He weighed a mere 17 pounds by then, but had a 12 1/4” horse tail of a beard and legit 1 1/2” spurs.
