Challenging Spring Turkey Season in KY: Gobbling, Hens, and Decoy Interactions

Wasn’t good in Missouri either. At least in my area. Worst season ever

3 smack downs laid by me 😁 3 others caused by my dirty talk for my friends/ family. I guess you KY folks don't get as long of a season to make it happen it seems. Sorry about your luck you'll get em next year!

@Mark Wilder nice! I've been after them the last 10 years and from what I understand I've missed the hayday of turkey population based in what I've heard from others. I definitely fell madly in love with the pursuit of them . Honestly in the territory I hunt nowadays I'm lucky to hear one or two birds on the roost so I take great pains not to blunder the few opportunities I get.

@Jake was awful in central Missouri as well. Yes the worst I seen. I think the flock is down and season should have been shifted up a week.

@Forged I think it’s time for the conservation to get out of the office and use some of that money to fix this Seems to be less agents and more office.

@Jake I was a LEO for 18 yrs and had several close friends who were agents. Enforcement was about 5% of their duties the rest was more PR work or counting wildlife for surveys.

Was blest to get my 2 birds this year. I hunt in western Ky & it definitely seems like numbers are down. But when I did find birds it seemed like they where pretty vocal in the morning then got quite around lunch time as well. Season was tough but got my first double bearded bird
