That's great news, I feel sorry for the mother of the young donor but am happy that she excepts her daughter's wishes to donate her organs. I will keep your uncle Scott in my prayers for a speedy recovery and also the  donors family for the gift of life that they have provided. 🙏

That is what we should all see in humanity. I have a friend that got a new liver 5 years ago and is now a changed person for his new lease on life. It amazes me what can be done with the human body. God Bless uncle Scott BTW my friend’s name is Scott as well.

That’s great news, Brad. Glad to hear that for your Uncle Scott and his family. So sorry for the gal who lost her life and her family. Prayers for all. You are so right about becoming an organ donor. I’ve been a registered donor for years and firmly believe if anyone else can use anything I can provide when I no longer need them, I am happy for them to have them as my last act of service. Likewise, donate blood as often as you are able and sign up to be a bone marrow donor at Be the Match.

@Brad Luttrell thats really great news on Uncle Scott. Thank God for people like that who are willing to donate. I'm a registered organ donor, have been ever since I got my drivers license. 
Its really awesome that he is exceeding expectations and doing so great. Hopefully this will be an inspiration to others to do the same and make a difference in a loved ones or a complete stranger's life.

An organ donor saved Uncle Scott's life.❤️

Two months ago, I shared how my wife's uncle was in desperate need of a liver. I posted here and on LinkedIn. 

The outpouring of support and inquiries was overwhelming. I've been hit hard with the feels multiple times at the willingness of others to step up.

Together, we had 60 people contact the transplant center so they could be evaluated, all in hopes of helping a stranger. 

Many of YOU were among the 60. 👏

I will never have the words to thank you all. Just know your love is felt by me and the whole family. ❤️

A woman named Kristin was selected to be Scott's living donor. This generous action and the support of family as well as strangers kept Scott going while he was hospitalized. Knowing he had a chance, he fought hard in the hospital, trying to get stable for the surgery. 

However, it was ultimately a young deceased donor who saved Scott's life.

SHE SAVED SIX LIVES. 

Kristin, the living donor, has already been matched to another person in need. I don't know her, but she is a living angel on earth in my opinion.

Uncle Scott is exceeding the transplant team’s expectations. He's so driven to recover and get back to his volunteering. He is on the board of a small farm that is an important pillar within his community. 

Last week, a stranger showed up at the farm and she asked the employees if they knew Scott Bryers. They said yes. 

A woman got out of the car and said she wanted to see where her daughter's liver would be spending time. 

It was the mother of the deceased donor. 

As they talked, the mother saw Gracie, the farm's Friesian horse, which had hung her head out of the barn to see what was going on. 

"Is that a Friesian?" the mother asked.

The team told her it was.

"It was all meant to be."

As it turns out, the donor owned two Friesian horses.

I am an organ donor. I also tried to donate to Scott, but was not a match (I only tell you that to say I didn't ask anyone else to do something I wasn't willing to do myself).
