Congratulations. Bear hunting is one of my favorite hunts but have never done it behind dogs. Can’t wait to hear the story

No way! That's awesome man, coni! That laurel is nuts, when I Cherokee National Forest a couple of years ago I ran into that. Definitely not what I was expecting and makes one understand why a fella would hunt with dogs. That stuff if thick, can't find a trail, nothing. Congrats again man!

@Adam yeah I had hunted in Laurel but never like this. With a dead bear miles from the truck 😂

@Brad congrats man! The Appalachians are a hunting wonder and can be brutal. Glad to hear it was a successful and overall rewarding trip!

@Joshua yessir. Been hunting those mountains on the Kentucky side my whole life but this hunt brought new meaning to a hard pack out 😂

Congrats fellas, those hunts separate the men from the boys for sure. I’ll bet ya learned a ton about clothing and gear selection. 💪👊

@Mike yeah @Chris is a gear guru for sure. Honestly my gear selections held up pretty good but a few weak points: boots, boot gaiters and lack of a thick wool layer. I had 2 layers of merino on but I’m on the hunt for a thick wool outer layer now. My under Armour boots would have been fine overall but were not tall enough for a creek crossing. Most of these guys are running high end boots and I just have not needed that kind of boot to hunt my normal hunts. Honestly its similar to western style in terms of gear performance , which you know well. There are some nuances but that’s what I realized overall

@Brad yessir, exactly what I meant. Whatever tweaks you found will make the next one that much more comfortable. If there is such a thing in that country🤣

@Brad totally understand man, we’re both saying the same thing, haha. I’ve pulled something out of every situation I’ve been in, but especially the ass kickers🤣
