@Bradley, if you're looking for a two blade mechanical broadhead, you might want to consider the Rage 2 Blade SC Broadheads or the Rage Chisel Tip SC Broadheads. Both of these broadheads have a cut on contact design and .035" stainless steel blades. The Rage Chisel Tip SC Broadheads have a chisel tip design that provides increased penetration, while the Rage 2 Blade SC Broadheads have a more traditional design. Both broadheads also feature improved Shock Collar technology for reliable blade retention and deployment. They both come with a practice head and have a cutting diameter of 2". Not interested in fixed blade? I only have shot fixed, but looked at VIP (veteran innovative products) and they seem pretty nice.

@Nick not opposed to fixed blades. I started with Rage mechanicals years ago and I’ve never had any issues. I’m not a big Rage fan because of the noise the old broadheads made in flight. That may have been corrected. I have been told to shoot fixed blades well bow and arrows have to be setup perfectly.

@Bradley I’ve only been shooting for a couple years now and started with fixed. I’m not advanced enough to know the difference, but didn’t want to chance some of the horror stories with mechanical (granted they are a small percentage of actual use).

I've shot shwacker for the last 3 years and have had no problems with them. Tried fixed blades this past season and switched back after loosing the first 2 deer I shot with them. Never shot a deer with the shwackers that I had to track. Honestly "and this is just my opinion" fixed blades have been way overrated the last few years. All this nonsense about having to shot heavy arrows with fixed blades is a myth. Find something that your accurate with, whatever that may be and as long as you have good shot placement well the rest doesn't really matter.

@Wayne all the YouTube hype has been around the fixed blade heavy arrow setup. Bout the only truth to that is the durability difference. I’m not one to take a quartering to shot with archery equipment so there’s no benefit there. If you only take broadside or quartering away shots a well placed shot is going to do the job. The 2 blade shwacker is definitely on the list.

@Bradley absolutely right man. I shoot lite and fast and never had a deer go more than 20 or 30 yards when the shwacker opens them up.

Heard lots of good things about the Sevr heads.

Any reason why only 2 blades? I am going to shoot my first mechanical ever this year, and am going to try out the G5 Deadmeat.

Sik SK2 !!! Never have an issue with them. Open every time fly like field points and leave a massive blood trail and wound channel

  • Bradley's avatar

@Kyle not really. I’ve always used a 2 blade. If I could make a reason up for not using a 3 blade it would be slightly less chance of a pass through shot. The new G5 3 blade are $60 a 3 pack. 🤦‍♂️

@Bradley 50 on here right now plus there’s always discount codes. I just ordered mine on here for $40! I agree on 60 being crazy, I’ll pay that for a good quality fixed blade but I don’t think I could’ve payed full price on the Deadmeats. I believe the Sevr are like 15 a piece.

@Kyle $40 is more like it.
