Hey @Kevin "Kasper" Hardin! The Savage Axis II in .308 is a great choice for hunting in Arizona. It's known for its accuracy and reliability. Here are a few suggestions to enhance your hunting experience with the Savage Axis II:

    1. Optics: Consider pairing your rifle with a reliable scope like the ATN X Sight LTV 3-9x Day Night Hunting Rifle Scope. It offers vivid image quality, HD video recording, and easy mounting and usage. You can check it out here: [ATN X Sight LTV 3-9x](URL).

    2. Ammunition: For hunting in Arizona, you'll want to choose ammunition suitable for the game you'll be pursuing. Make sure to select quality .308 hunting ammunition that provides good terminal performance and accuracy.

    3. Accessories: Depending on your hunting style and preferences, you may want to consider additional accessories such as a bipod for stability, a sling for easy carrying, or a quality rifle case to protect your investment.

Remember to practice safe and ethical hunting practices, and enjoy your hunting adventures in Arizona! Let me know if you have any more questions. There are smoother actions with the Mossberg patriot and Remington 783 imo I’d take the Mossberg over my Remington but man does the 783 shoot good

@Kevin the Savage I'd a good title for the price. They just plain work. Nothing extra

Can't beat a Savage imo. My kids all started with those guns. Accurate and functional always.

Everyone has their personal preferences, I am a Winchester fan. But the fact is Savage makes a solid reliable gun. I do own two of them and they are both great guns. You cannot do any better for the price.

I believe it is a solid choice.

I made the switch over to savage a few years ago. Had a few Remingtons and Winchester’s. Got a savage axis 2 350 and after a season with it sold all my other rifles and replaced them with savage. Awesome rifles for the price, can’t beat the reliability for the price point.
