    I mean they both have pretty high potential to get me excited. Who doesn't love a 11+in paintbrush beard? or a good double beard? However I'm 35 or so birds into my turkey hunting career and I've yet to get one with some real daggers. I've called in dozens for friends and family and they were an inch tops as well. So I'd be tickled pink to hit that 1.5 mark one of these days

    Hope you get one with some good hooks. I’ve shot numerous gobblers with 1 1/4” hooks and my best had 1 5/8”. I would love to get a double bearded bird. I’m 40 gobblers in and never shot a double bearded gobbler.@Appalachian

    I don’t think it matters to me. As long as it’s exciting & gets my blood pumping, i’m over the moon excited 🦃 Love all the memories made in the turkey woods.

    Amen to that, brother. It’s not a good hunt for me, if he doesn’t come in full strut and gobbling his head off. @John

    @Tom You bring the bird I'll do the smoking. So far I ain't heard a gobble this season. I gave up and went crappie fishing today

    Our season starts on the 22nd. Last 4 or 5 years the gobblers hardly gobbler here in Ohio. @GVS

    @GVS LOL that’s not a wild Turkey.

    I definitely like the surprise of big old hooks. I pretty much know what the beard is before I take the shot. Once and a while I get the surprise multiple beard but I’m most multiple beard birds I have killed I was able to see it before the shot. The one in the picture below snuck an extra unseen beard in on me but I was much more pumped about the hooks.

    @Mervin Oh yeah! Love me some hooks as well.🦃🙌🏻

    @Tom Thanks man! Hope you get a double beard soon. Here's my 2nd one, and it was truly a triple with a tiny little whispy one hiding under the bottom beard. My first double just had a small whispy extra one as well.

  • Tom's avatar

    @Wade Same here. 🙌🏻

    @Tom my best is also 1&5/8

  • Tom's avatar

    Sweeeet! I was hoping my Osceola would have had bigger spurs. He was just a 2 year old though. My buddy from Florida shot one that had 2” spurs a few years back.

    @Tom man I’m hoping to top that one one day. I thought those were 2 inches. I’ve killed 6 or 7 sets of 1&1/2 and those looked so much longer. His beard was 12&1/2

    @Wade

  • Tom's avatar

    @Wade Wow! My longest beard was 11 5/8.

  • Wade's avatar

    @Tom I’ve been blessed to have taken 4 that were 12 or over. God has really blessed me in the woods and I praise him for that

  • Tom's avatar

    That’s awesome. Praise the Lord. Sounds like we are both blessed to be able to hunt these beautiful critters.
