Was fortunate enough to tag my first Out Of State Gobbler. Hunting the George Washington National Forest in Va. Found a good spot on top of a ridge. It’s was straight up. I’m talking bear crawling to get to the top. 
  At first light on the back side of the Mtn I hear turkeys gobbling all around me, but the ridges are so steep I was trying to figure out how to set up. I started calling and had two answer. I was working the bird closest to me but he flew down and shut up. 
  So hear I go walking the ridge top rocking a box call loud off in the deep hollers. I finally hear one answered on another huge ridge near the top. It sounded kinda muffled. So I move up on a bench and cut hard on that box call he turned and gobbled facing me. I moved up to the next bench with less trash and yelped with the mouth call. He gobbled right under me. 
   Then he went down on the first bench I located him from. I hit him with a few soft clucks raked the leaves and he gobbled hard at 75 yard. Finally I see his head coming through some pine saplings on the trail I just walked up. He came spitting and strutting  , in walked behind a tree I moved my gun over ia inch. When he came from behind the tree I cut, he broke strut and killed him at 42 yards. It was a mile and a half from where I first heard him gobble that morning to where I killed him.
