An Archery mentor is what you need lets see if @David can tag some Colorado folks that would have some helpful advice. Good luck.

Yes help with hearing side who has done archery before with elk. I’ll look into cpw for archery mentor. Not bad idea to start from there. I’m not confident with how yet but am working on that. That’s why I start small like deer on private land first then move on up to public land. Thank you everybody for the advice and suggestion.

There are a lot of elk taken just by spot and stalk. It’ll be tough with hearing impairment but not impossible. Have you considered a guided hunt? There might be some guides out there that can sign.

I did think about guided hunt. Must have right people. Tons of outfitter out there. Will be nice if one of the guide already has experience with deaf hunter before on a hunt. That will be much helpful.

@Casi you can tag people for replies by hitting the wee box under their comment on the left to auto tag them or you can hit the @ sign and start typing there name and choose it from the list of your tagging more than one person, the auto tag only does the one from the comment. That way they get notified u replied, GoWild’s way of making it easier for us to talk 😎

Ok, well main thing is to find somewhere to shoot the bow and practise practise practise. Don’t be so overly concerned with what your gonna shoot rather than how and how good your gonna shoot. Perfect shot placement is the least the animal deserves for a quick and efficient kill and that takes a ton of practise to let the muscle memory and confidence kick in. Also because the better the shot and the quicker the kill the more you will take on a positive note from the entire experience. Of you ever need any tips or tricks with learning to shoot very accurately by all means give us a shout. There loads of people on here that can help you with that, me included. I will tag up the people I know in Colorado, there isn’t loads but they might just know someone or be able to help. @Brian ’s idea of going with a guide is a great idea, at the very least it will boost your chances of success as he will know his area inside out. Just take your time to get to know them a little so you feel confident in your choice there. How long have you been shooting the bow?

Bear in mind there’s loads of time and there no rush, I don’t need to be an expert or anything right away @Casi

@B @Anthony @Eric @Kara @Mason @Dawson @Katie Burgert @Chance @Austin @Paul @EB a very unique opportunity for you guys. @Casi is looming for a mentor to help her with and archery hunt. She is deaf but has the use of a hearing aid but could do with an experienced guide or extra pair of eyes and ears to help her put together a dream archery hunt in Colorado. She’s got hunting experience bit new to the archery world. I’d anyone has advice or knows of any good guides in Colorado or even better, can tag along or have her tag along with one of you, av no doubt she would really appreciate it.

@David I know a couple elk spots that I just saw an 8 by 8 a few weeks ago and many more but I’m a rifle hunter

  • Ferg's avatar

@Dawson would you be able to guide her in and let her do the stalk?

  • Dawson's avatar

@David probably not cause I’m going on a long fishing trip

  • Ferg's avatar

@Dawson it’s not gonna be this year dude. She had a lot of training to do so next season is more likely dude

  • Dawson's avatar

@David oh I only read your comment dude

  • Ferg's avatar
