So my boy got tired of fishin & handed me his trout rod so he could go play in the river.  Next thing I know I'm hung up at the base of a big rock & the swirl below it that had snagged more than one $8 lure. 
 Dagnabbit, I whispered to myself, loosened the bale to create slack & started picking my way downstream to see if I could loosen the hook when suddenly I realized that the line was  headed steadily & rapidly upstream. 😳
I quickly reversed directions & started pulling / reeling as quickly as I could. Pull... reel... pull... reel...keeping solid tension...  this bugger fought hard! The splashing water & flashing spawning colors had me excited to see this one up close. It seemed to take forever but I finally had it close to shore & grabbed it up only to realize how incredibly lucky I was to have brought this one to shore! 😍
1st .... trout rod
2nd .. 15 lb test line 😬
3rd ... the trout spinner was pulled completely apart & by sheer luck was holding the single treble hook in place!! 😳
This wasn't a trophy per se & it is one of the smallest Kings I've ever gotten  but it was also the most fun I ever had reeling in a fish (& there's been a LOT of fish 🤣).  
It was hella good eating too! 😁
