@Brad yeah it's pretty liberal too. We've got "bear hunt zones" and the season varies from zone to zone. A lot of the smokies (Cherokee National Forest) allows for hound hunting bears but a lot of our counties here in the valley allow for archery bear in the first few weeks of October, coinciding with the opening of deer. They actually opened one of my favorite WMAs to bear last year. I'm wanting to try and get out there this year and maybe do a deer/bear camp.
