It's been a little warmer the last few days, so my fiancée and I tried to hit the white bass run again. 

They definitely are a bit more active, and I managed to hook into one, but all in all, it was still a slow day of fishing. 

The wind was howling the whole time, which made things difficult. Also made me glad that I didn't take the boat out since I don't have spot lock. 

I also managed to hook into a nice drum. That was definitely fun on the ultralight. 

I'd say in a few more days, the white bass will really be moving!

Wish we could have stayed longer, but me, my fiancée, and one of my best friends from childhood were able to get out today and do a little fishing. 

This buddy of mine has been living in Japan for the last 2 years for work, so he hasn't been able to fish while he's been gone. 

We were hoping to get into some white bass that should be running the river soon, but we still think it was a little early. 

Regardless, it was a great time out in nature, on some of America's incredible public land (although this particular section could use some clean up) , with some people who are very close to me. 

Can't wait to go again! 

Oh, and I managed to catch 2 little small mouth.

After shed hunting/trash pick up, I went and tried to catch my first bass for the calendar year. The temperatures have been slowly climbing and I thought the bass might start biting. I did catch one very tiny bass at the lake a few weeks ago, but it didn't really count. 

I found one specific area in the pond that they seemed to be stacked up in. Almost every time I threw a curly tail into that spot, I'd land a bass! 

This little farm pond is fun. It's small, but the bass in it are all real nice sized. That's probably not a healthy pond, but I don't know enough about that stuff to say for sure. 

Ended the quick session with 5 bass.
