GoWild fishing app partners with Carl Jocumsen

Profesional Angler Carl Jocumsen is officially partnering with GoWild to spread the word about the hunting and fishing app.

GoWild is officially sponsoring one of the best fishermen in the world, Australian angler Carl Jocumsen.

Carl has won all there is to win in Australia, and GoWild is proud to support his continued journey onto the world stage, competing on the Bassmaster Open and FLW Tour. Carl was the first Australian to ever make it into the top 100 anglers in the world on the Bassmaster Elites.

“The GoWild app has some of the most dedicated outdoorsmen and women in the world, posting and interacting every day,” said fellow professional angler and GoWild Chief Strategy Officer, John Hunter. “Carl portrays the dedication and hard work that reflects our daily users. He’s self made and an upcoming star in the professional sport of bass fishing. Through his work ethic and character, we feel he’s an excellent representation of our brand.”

His Work Ethic Has Paid Off

Carl was the Australian BASS Pro Angler of the Year in 2006, 2008 and 2010. He’s a seven-time winner of Australian major BASS events. Carl was the Australian BASS Grand Final (Classic) Champion in 2008, and he’s never finished outside the top 10. He has over 30 top 10 finishes on the Australian tour, and is a three time winner of Australian BASS Megabucks. In addition to his fishing success, Carl is an avid hunter, which made him the perfect representative of the GoWild brand.

Through all of his success, Carl is still the same down to earth guy that John has gotten to know over the years. It was through their friendship that Carl and John started talking about GoWild and an opportunity to help both promote each other’s brands.

“After hearing about the GoWild app and experiencing it for myself, I’m seriously excited about using it this year,” said Carl. “To learn about and share experiences with like-minded outdoors enthusiasts without the pressures of online judgment is a great feeling. This is an amazing new concept and I’ve already enjoyed talking fishing and hunting with people on the GoWild app!”

Tracking outdoor activities is incredibly fun and rewarding. You already knew you worked hard—you could feel the burn. But how cool is it to know you also climbed 2,100 feet of elevation, your max heart rate was 183, max ambient air temperature was 84º, your average cadence was 37 strides per minute and the total distance was 8.1 miles?

Microwaving Your Wild Game Meat

When thinking of how to prepare wild game I often think of the iconic scene from Forrest Gump where Bubba is explaining all the methods to prepare shrimp… fried shrimp, shrimp kabobs, shrimp gumbo, etc. Venison and most game meats are highly versatile, and are consumed in countless dishes and cuisines from around the world. You may now be thinking, “Fried deer, elk burgers, goose kabobs”… the list goes on forever. Each wild meal I prepare is a chance to extract the most out of whatever cut of meat I am preparing, combining those rich flavors with quality, seasonal ingredients to create a mouthwatering and delicious meal for my family and friends.
